Kelty Hearts Football Club - Statement

Respect The Past Embrace The Future.

On behalf of the Gaffer, his Staff, Players, Board & Committee we would like to thank all our supporters, friends and sponsors for their unbelievable backing again this season.

Our average attendance for our League fixtures was an incredible 384 and all competitions 360, an amazing number for our level. Thanks a lot, these numbers help the club continue to grow on and off the pitch.

East Kilbride are deserved champions, their consistency has been incredible over the season. Their squad is a very experienced and talented one at this level as they look to fulfil their dreams of getting into SPFL 2, we would like to congratulate everyone connected with the club on their league win and we would like to support them as a fellow Lowland League side in the playoff matches that start today.

Kelty Hearts have been competing regionally for the past 40 or so years in the East of Scotland, we are now operating at national tier 5 level in the Lowland League which is only going to get stronger. As we predicted when we moved to the pyramid 2 years ago the Lowland League will become 1 of if not the best and most competitive divisions in Scotland as ex Senior clubs drop down and the best East and West and ex Junior clubs filter into the league.

We are delighted with our top 3 finish this season and will look to build on that next season to see if we can mount a real title challenge to the very end.

The Gaffer has been busy over the last few months on player recruitment to help us do that, 6 players have already been signed on pre contracts, there might be 1 or 2 more to come but most of our business has been done early which is very pleasing.

This work means we won’t be involved in any auctions with players, clubs or scrambling around to the end looking for players capable of taking the club forward. We need to try and keep raising the bar now that we are competing at national level and you can be rest assured a hell of a lot of work behind the scenes has been going on and will continue to go on over the summer to give us the best chance of doing that.

Naturally same as every season some players will leave which is part of football, but we all know the club can’t stand still for any situation or individual.

The football club needs to always come 1st, we must always do our best to try and improve on and off the pitch so that the numbers through the gates keep rising and we continue to build.

Any individual that does move on will go with the club’s heartfelt thanks for their efforts and commitment on playing a part in getting Kelty Hearts to where it is today.

As with all players they shall always be welcome through the gates of New Central Park anytime.

We shall announce all the new signings around the middle of May where we shall also do our new kit launch. We have had the new home and away kit delivered and I must say it’s an absolute belter and is sure to be a big seller.

We don’t want to give away too much, but It does have a collar and some flashes of gold, the quality of the new Joma kit is excellent which is very pleasing. They will go on sale the middle of May also.

Season Tickets will go on sale at the same time, we shall keep them very competitive as always and will run a money off voucher for the new kit if you purchase a ticket or vice versa you buy a strip you’ll get money off a season ticket.

We shall have all the details on our website and social media over the next few weeks or so. Our preseason friendly match schedule will be announced over the next month or so too, again season tickets will be valid for these matches.

We would like to offer a massive thanks to all our Main Sponsors who give us magnificent support, North Road Garage, CEM Scotland, Ewing, Metrotile, Golden Flames, Costcutter, I&H Brown, Avante Garde, Dynamic EMS, Forth Containers, Source 4 Me, Lickleys, Crombie Plumbing and Blockbuild.

Added to our army of pitch side board, match ball and match day sponsors, sponsorship is key to the success of any club and we thank you all for helping and supporting us.

It’s not something we like doing as we just tend to get our heads down and get on with things here in Kelty however Barry Ferguson, his staff, the players and the board would like to personally thank all the volunteers that give multiple 10’s of hours to Kelty Hearts every week behind the scenes for free.

The whole of the Community Club which is making great strides in only its 2nd year, hospitality, u20’s management & squad, the girls in the bars, ground maintenance, the media boys, finance, secretarial, match day helpers, cleaners, the lot.

You put your free time in every day, every week to better Kelty Hearts. We are very fortunate to have so many good people on board that give their all to provide the best platform for the club to keep moving and to the management and players to perform on a weekly basis. There are too many people to mention by name but we know who you are and you all deserve huge thanks, credit and respect.

Message From Barry Ferguson -  “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the people behind the scenes at the club, the supporters and also the people in the town for the way my staff and myself have been welcomed into Kelty Hearts, its humbling to be associated with such honest hard working people trying their best to achieve. It’s a new challenge for me in a different part of the country to where I live but I really do feel at my 2nd home when I come off the M90 on a Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

You can be rest assured the staff, the players and myself are up for the challenge ahead, we are and will be working day and night, day in day out to try and bring this club success at a nationwide level for years to come.

The attendance numbers have been incredible this season and we will need that same support and hopefully a few more every step of the way on our journey, we really do appreciate it and you will notice a few tweaks next season that will show that appreciation from the players to you the supporters on a weekly basis.

Dean, Myself and Garry doing the paperwork have been working hard on recruiting to strengthen the squad for the season coming with most of the business complete which im very happy with, its sure to be an interesting summer on and off the pitch. Id like to ask you to once again keep supporting the boys and get your season tickets in vast numbers when they come out in May for the exciting season ahead. See you all through the summer and at the start of pre-season.”

As the door closes on our 18/19 campaign with a lot of change on the horizon at the club in various departments on and off the pitch coming for season 19/20, we now must respect the past and embrace the future.

Thanks once again to all who supported Kelty Hearts through the wins, draws, defeats and adversity during the season it’s very much appreciated by all of us.

All efforts now go onto season 19/20, we have the William Hill Scottish Cup, Irn Bru Cup and another competitive Lowland League campaign to look forward to, here’s to the next chapter in the history of Kelty Hearts FC, see you all soon #COTH
