A third away game on the bounce awaits this Saturday, this time we head to Shielfield Park to face a Berwick Rangers side so, earlier in the season, held the high scoring BSC Glasgow to a goalless draw.

Kelty are coming off some impressive wins on the road to Cumbernauld Colts and in-form Gala Fairydean Rovers. Injuries have hindered Ferguson’s ability to pick from a full squad of players so far this season with Tidser and Stevenson both pulling up early in last Saturdays 2-1 win over Gala.

Berwick Rangers home form is good having won three of five, the two losses coming against East Stirlingshire and East Kilbride. The Borders side only won one of their five lowland league fixtures in November and will undoubtedly be looking for a better month in December beginning with Saturdays home game.

Head to Head

Saturdays meeting between the two sides will be only the second between the two sides in League action with Kelty winning the previous meeting 1-0 at Shielfield Park in October of last year. Scott Linton was the goal scorer in that meeting and the side will be looking to the likes of Easton, Austin and Higginbotham who have provided goals so far this season.

The two also met in the Football Nations Cup with Kelty running out 4-0 winners at New Central Park. Austin, Reilly, Russell and Linton all finding their way onto the scoresheet.

Last 3 Meetings:

Kelty Hearts               4-0     Berwick Rangers

Berwick Rangers       0-1      Kelty Hearts

Players to Watch

Dylan Easton has been outstanding in Maroon throughout November bagging Man of the Match awards in Kelty’s home tie against Cumbernauld and then again in the away trip to The Netherdale.

Easton has taken his goal tally to five and assists to six over the last month and, against a Berwick Rangers Team who have proven difficult to breakdown this season, the boys kitted out in Maroon will be looking for more of the same at Shielfield Park.
