Kelty Hearts head over the bridge this Saturday to take on Civil Service Strollers at Christie Gilles Park. The Strollers finished 6th last season amassing 39 points from their 23 fixtures.

We head on the road coming off another challenging tie against SPL opposition, this time an away trip to Tannadice where the Kelty Jambos were able to hold Dundee United to a single goal and a 1-0 defeat. This came 3 days after Kelty’s 4-0 win against Edinburgh University on the Lowland Leagues Matchday 1.

The Strollers have played two fixtures in the Lowland League already picking up a single point against BSC Glasgow on Tuesday after losing 1-0 to East Stirlingshire in their opening fixture. The Edinburgh side have had a tough start to their campaign and will be looking to take points from the Lowland League champions in this tight affair.

Head to Head

This will be the 7th meeting between the two sides With Kelty winning all 6 of the encounters so far. The previous meetings haven’t been a walk in the park for Kelty with 3 of the 6 being decided by a single goal, including an extra time 2-1 win in The Soccer Shop Challenge Cup last season.

Last time round Kelty we’re eventual winners after a Scott Linton hat-trick of penalties gave Kelty the 3-2 win away from home in January of this year.

Last 3 Meetings:

Civil Service Strollers   2 – 3         Kelty Hearts

Civil Service Strollers   1 – 2(ET)  Kelty Hearts

Kelty Hearts                  5 – 0         Civil Service Strollers

Players to Watch

Michael Tidser was named Captain during preseason and 3 competitive games in and it’s not hard to see why.

The ex-Morton man has played the full 90 minutes in all 3 of Kelty’s opening fixtures and has quickly formed strong relationships with the team playing around.

Playing with a back 3 in Kelty’s season opener meant awareness needed to be on point for Kelty’s captain to ensure we weren’t left short at the back and that awareness kept Edinburgh chances minimal for the 90 minutes.
