Four games and twelve points into the season and we’re back on the road, this time to Alliance Park where we face the Caledonian Braves.

Kelty will look to build on their 100% Record when they take on the North Lanarkshire side this Saturday. Kelty’s fifth tie of the season comes off the back of a convincing 4-0 win against Vale of Leithen on Tuesday night which saw four different find the back of the net including new signing Grant Anderson who opened the scoring for the second consecutive game. Higginbotham also netted for the fourth time in as many appearances.

The Braves picked up their first points of the season on Tuesday night after beating Dalbeattie Star 3-1 at Alliance Park. Jack Smith, David Winters and David Sinclair got the goals for Ricky Waddell’s side. Caledonian Braves will undoubtedly be disappointed with their opening to the 2020-21 Season and will hope their win midweek will be the start of an early turnaround for the Lowland League side.

Head to Head

Saturdays Matchup will be the fifth between the two sides with Kelty currently in possession of bragging rights having won all four of the previous meetings.

Last time out Kelty put four past the Caley Braves with Austin scoring another Hattrick and Easton adding his name to the scoresheet as well. Serge Makofo was able to get a late consolation goal for Caley Braves. Braves will be looking to the likes of Winters, McNeil and Smith to break through the Kelty defence this time round.

Last 3 Meetings:

Kelty Hearts                4 – 1         Caledonian Braves

Caledonian Braves       1 – 4         Kelty Hearts

Kelty Hearts               5 – 0         Caledonian Braves

Players to Watch

Grant Anderson has made an immediate impact at New Central Park scoring the opening goal in his two starts for Kelty since joining earlier in the month.

Saturday will be Anderson’s first away trip with Kelty and he’ll likely continue to fill in for the recovering Nathan Austin who looks close to returning to the starting line-up. The big target man is most comfortable playing as a winger and could feature here when Austin returns or if Barry give Flynn the nod to start on Saturday.
