After back to back away days we return to New Central Park this weekend to face Lowland League side Dalbeattie Star.

The home side have made the perfect start to their defence of the Lowland League Title with wins against Edinburgh University and Civil Service Strollers, the latter coming down to a hard fought 3-2 win to bring the 3 points back to Kelty. Tidser, Higginbotham and Philp finding the net in that one.

Dalbeattie have had a less fortunate start to their season losing all three of their opening fixtures including a 4-0 defeat at the hands of East Stirlingshire last Saturday. Star did run a strong BSC Glasgow close in their opening Lowland League fixture losing narrowly 2-1 away from home.

Head to Head

This will be the 7th meeting between the two sides, Kelty have taken wins in 3 of the last 6 encounters with Star taking 3 points from Kelty early 2019. The first two meetings between the sides ended in draws, including a 2-2 Draw in Keltys Lowland League debut back in 2018.

Kelty have gotten the better of Dalbeattie in their last two meetings however scoring a combined twelve goals and conceding none, a run of form Kelty will be looking to extend this Saturday.

Last 3 Meetings:

Dalbeattie Star             0 – 4         Kelty Hearts

Kelty Hearts                 8 – 0         Dalbeattie Star

Dalbeattie Star             2 – 1         Kelty Hearts

 Players to Watch

Ross Philp has quietly gone about his business playing in several positions already this season for the Kelty Jambos and will be looking to feature again this weekend.

Philp is currently Kelty’s longest serving player having re-signed with the side back in 2017 after having previously played with a Kelty side playing Junior Football in 2012-14. He’ll be looking to continue his impressive form in front of goal also, notching up a goal in each of Keltys Lowland League Fixtures so far this season.

Recent signing Grant Anderson could also feature on Saturday as Kelty look to continue their hot start to the season.
