Kelty and East Stirlingshire will face each other in the first game of the calendar year for the third consecutive year when the sides meet on Tuesday evening.

Kelty will be well rested after their New Years Day Fixture against Bonnyrigg Rose was postponed to allow last seasons runners up to play their Scottish Cup Round 1 fixture. The boy in maroon were still out on New Years Day with an additional training session ahead of a tough run of fixtures. Kelty have won their last 9 games and will be looking to make it 10 on Tuesday.

East Stirlingshire are coming off a tough loss against East of Scotland Premier League Leaders Tranent Juniors in the Scottish Cup, the former SPFL Side losing 4-1 away from home. Like Kelty, East Stirlingshire were idle on New Years Day as their opponents, Bo’ness United, were also in Scottish Cup action. Shire sit just 4 points behind Second placed BSC Glasgow with a game in hand and will be keen to keep the pressure on those above with a win on Saturday.

Head to Head

Tuesday evenings game between the two sides will be the fifth meeting between the Kelty and East Stirlingshire. The two sides have kept the record close and as it stands Kelty have 2 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss against The Shire.

East Stirlingshire boast a talented squad which includes Player/Asst. Manager Andy Rodgers who is not too far behind Austins 10 goals with 8 of his own for The Shire this season.

Last time out East Stirlingshire left New Central Park with a point after a 2-2 draw in January 2020. A Scott Linton double secured a point for the Maroon Machine in one of only three league games Kelty would drop points in the League Winning 2019-20 Season.
