Kelty play Vale of Leithen under the lights this Tuesday night with a 7:45pm kick-off marked out for the Lowland League tie.

Kelty continued their 100% start to the season with a 2-0 win against a Dalbeattie Star side that have caused the fifers issues in the past. New signing Grant Anderson took no time at all to settle in at New Central Park on Saturday finding the net just 5 minutes into his debut.

Vale of Leithen have had a polar opposite start to their season losing all four of their opening fixtures. The borders side have had better production in front of goal so far this season scoring 5 goals in their last 2 however they have had issues at the other end of the pitch conceding 15 times in 4 games.

Head to Head

This Tuesdays clash will be the 6th between the two sides. Kelty have won 4 of the previous 5 meetings and with one previous meeting finishing in a 0-0 draw at New Central Park back in 2018. Overall Kelty have put 28 goals past Vale of Leithen keepers while Vale have scored once against Kelty at Victoria Park in last seasons Soccer Shop Direct Challenge Cup.

In the last meeting between the sides Kelty took all 3 points in an 11-0. Austin netted 4 times in that meeting while Bembo, Philp and Easton also got in on the action scoring a goal a piece.

Last 3 Meetings:

Vale of Leithen              1 – 6        Kelty Hearts

Players to Watch

Scott Hooper has started in all five of Kelty’s competitive fixtures so far this season and has been consistently reliable in an impressive defence so far this season.

Hopper was one of 3 players to make the move from Peterhead during the preseason and has shown the ability to play at a very high level excelling in games against SPL opposition earlier in the season. Others around Hooper have been rotated due to injuries, suspension and a busy fixture list but Hooper has demonstrated the flexibility to connect quickly with different teammates.
